WNT-5a is a member of the WNT family ofsignaling proteins that play a key role in embryonic development and theintegrity of adult tissues. WNT-5a is a prototypic canonical WNT that signalsthrough the beta-catenin pathway. The predicted size of mouse WNT-5a is amonomeric protein containing 333 amino acid residues. Due to glycosylation, itmigrates at an apparent molecular weight of 40 kDa by SDS-PAGE analysis undernon-reducing conditions. StemRD’s product is expressed from a mouse cell lineover-expressing mouse WNT-5a. We express and purify WNT proteins by using aproprietary process that is distinctive from the published protocol. Our methodresults in WNT proteins that are purer and more active than market-leadingproducts which have been associated with non-specific artifacts.
